The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Nokia at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Seagulls 80-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Nokia won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Seagulls won last quarter 25-20. Nokia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valpo) scored 28 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: TSU) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Seagulls players scored in double figures. American point guard Wes Washpun (185-93, college: N.Iowa) responded with 21 points and his fellow American import forward Jeff Garrett (201-94, college: LSUS) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Seagulls will play against Kouvot in Kouvola in the next round. Nokia will play on the road against Lahti to get more than just one victory in their record.
