Seventh-ranked Dragonflies (1-5) made lots of trouble for third ranked Toshiba Thunders (5-1) in Kanagawa. Toshiba Thunders managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Toshiba Thunders made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Dragonflies 40-29 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Dragonflies helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) nailed a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds. Toshiba Thunders' coach Kenji Sato allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) added 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks respectively for Dragonflies in the defeat. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Toshiba Thunders. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Dragonflies lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
