Regular Season Round 1: Jyvaskyla BA - LoKoKo Bisons 54-76

An interesting game where LoKoKo Bisons crushed host Jyvaskyla BA with 22-point difference 76-54 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by LoKoKo Bisons. Jyvaskyla BA managed to win second period 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Jalen Canty (203-95, college: UCSB) stepped up and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners and swingman Vesa Heinonen (194-91) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side center Aleksi Liukko (211-99) responded with 8 points and 13 rebounds and guard Niilo Karkkainen (190-99) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. LoKoKo Bisons will meet at home ToPo Juniorit in the next round. Jyvaskyla BA will play against Oulun Bball and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
