Regular Season Round 5: Sea Horses M. - Nagoya DD 87-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Diamond Dolphins' (3-3) road loss to leader Aishin Sea Horses (5-0) 82-87 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who scored 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) chipped in 24 points. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser Diamond Dolphins dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face again Diamond Dolphins (#4) in Nagoya in the next round.
