Regular Season Round 4: Brest - Gomel 95-67

Brest can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Gomel (0-3) 95-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 61-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Brest forced 26 Gomel turnovers and outrebounded them 58-45 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Konstantin Solyshko (196-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) who added 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Timofey Verevkin (187-93) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and swingman Yegor Dudov (192-98) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brest (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Grodno GrSU. It was Gomel's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Tsmoki II and SDUSHOR. Brest will meet higher ranked RGUOR (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gomel will play against the league's second-placed Borisfen having rather not much hope for a victory.
