There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (1-4) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Niigata A. (3-3) 79-73 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American-North Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) produced 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata A. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Niigata A. will face again Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round.
