Very important is a home loss of Trigrillos against Team Cali on Saturday night. Host Trigrillos were crushed by Team Cali in 88-59. The former international forward Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valpo) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international Michaell Jackson (190-87) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Team Cali players scored in double figures. American point guard Jamaal Smith (176-85, college: N.Mexico) responded with 5 points and 12 assists and international Hanner Mosquera-Perea (205-93, college: ETSU) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Team Cali will meet Condores in the next round where they are favorite. Trigrillos will play against Titanes in Barranquilla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
