Regular Season Round 15: Soles - Aaguacateros 104-95

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Aaguacateros (12-3) in Mexicali on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Soles (10-5) 104-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aaguacateros. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Soles made 29-of-29 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Aaguacateros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Shonn Miller (201-93, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American-Argentinian guard Erik Thomas (195-95, college: New Orleans) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was American center Jerome Meyinsse (208-88, college: Virginia) with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Avry Holmes (185-94, college: Clemson) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Soles and five Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Soles maintains second place with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Mineros. Aaguacateros at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Mineros. Soles are again looking forward to face league's leader Aaguacateros in Michoacan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aaguacateros will have a break next round.
