Regular Season Round 4: Montbrison - Chartres 53-91
Date: October 17, 2020
Undefeated leader Chartres delivered the fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Montbrison (2-2) 91-53. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Montbrison. Chartres forced 24 Montbrison turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of guard Joelly Belleka (171-95) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists and forward Margot Bienvenu (184-97) who added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Chartres players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Sirine Mehadji (190-0) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Bulgarian forward Radoslava Bachvarova (182-87, college: VCU) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chartres have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Loser Montbrison dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Chartres will meet at home Mondeville (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Montbrison will play against Reims (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
