An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kawasaki. Second ranked Hitachi Cougars faced one of their biggest challengers Fujitsu RW. Guests from Hitachinaka (7-3) defeated host Fujitsu RW (7-3) 74-63. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 50-32 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international center Rika Tanimura (185-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and the former international power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) supported her with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by international power forward Monica Okoye (182-99) did not help to save the game for Fujitsu RW. Power forward Mamiko Tanaka (180-96) added 7 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hitachi Cougars maintains second position with 7-3 record having just seven point less than leader Eneos S., which they share with defeated Fujitsu RW. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
