Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Empoli and 8th ranked Campobasso had identical 1-2 record. This time Empoli used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Campobasso 80-57 on Sunday night. They outrebounded Campobasso 46-25 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Croatian Nina Premasunac (187-92, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. American guard Kamiah Smalls (178, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Empoli players scored in double figures. International power forward Samantha Ostarello (188-91, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-93) added 14 points in the effort for Campobasso. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Empoli (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Broni and San Martino. Newly promoted Campobasso dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Empoli will face Costa Masnaga (#9) on the road in the next round. Campobasso will play against Battipaglia and hope to win that game.
