Regular Season Round 6: Shaanxi - Tianjin 84-97

Tianjin has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Red Wolves (2-4) on the road game in Weinan 97-84. Tianjin made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Red Wolves' players. Red Wolves were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Yingli Huang (172-89) notched 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and guard Fangxin Zhao (168-99) supported her with 22 points and 5 assists. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals by guard Yuyu Chen (170-94) did not help to save the game for Red Wolves. Forward Luchenhong Yang (184-96) added 22 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Red Wolves' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tianjin (1-5) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Heilongjiang. Red Wolves at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with Fujian. Tianjin will play against higher ranked Magic Deer (#5) in Urumqi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Red Wolves will play on the road against Sports Lottery (#11) in Penglai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
