Important game to mention about took place in Aguascalientes. Sixth ranked Panteras (5-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Abejas (4-12) 83-80 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Abejas. Panteras made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Strangely Abejas outrebounded Panteras 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Center Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Terrell Carter-II (208-95, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Bo Spencer (185-89, college: Nebraska) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Abejas. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Panteras moved-up to fifth place. Abejas at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Panteras will play against higher ranked Libertadores (#4) in Queretaro in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Abejas will play at home against the league's leader Aaguacateros and hope to get back on the winning track.
