Regular Season Round 1: Kipina - Westside ET 110-101

Kipina used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Espoo 110-101 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Westside ET won third quarter 40-32. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kipina made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Westside ET only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Westside ET was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. His fellow American import guard Anton Gill (191-94, college: Nebraska, agency: Green Sports Management) chipped in 38 points (!!!) and 5 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Guard Sami Marouf (188-88) produced 29 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Tidiane Bah (187-1) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Westside ET's coach Nigel Moore let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kipina will face Raholan P. in Tampere in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Westside ET will play at home against FoKoPo and hope to win that game.
