Regular Season Round 1: Norrkoping - BC Lulea 83-77

The biggest surprise of round 1 in Basketligan took place in Norrkoping where host Norrkoping Dolphins beat BC Lulea 83-77 on Sunday evening. Norrkoping Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BC Lulea's 36. American swingman Terry Larrier (203-95, college: UConn) fired 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Phil Carr (203-95, college: Morgan St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Norrkoping Dolphins' coach Mikko Riipinen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-98, college: E.Wyoming) produced 18 points and the former international center Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) added 18 points respectively for lost side. BC Lulea will play next round against Umea trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Norrkoping Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
