Very expected game when bottom-ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (0-3) lost on the road to fifth ranked La Rochelle (3-2) 73-56 on Tuesday. Desmond Quincy-Jones (201-85, college: Pace) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Guard Gaetan Clerc (189-91) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Serbian power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Frederic Loubaki (197-97, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Rochelle have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Lorient. Loser Lourdes-Tarbes still closes the standings with three games lost. La Rochelle will face JSA Bordeaux (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Union Rennes and hopes to get finally their first victory.
