Regular Season Round 7: Hokkaido L. - Akita NH 104-79

There was a surprise result in Saporro where ninth ranked Hokkaido L. (3-4) smashed higher ranked Akita Happinets (4-3) 104-79 on Wednesday. Hokkaido L. shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) helped adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Alex Davis (206-92, college: Fresno St.) responded with 16 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Five Hokkaido L. and four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hitachi SRT and Osaka E. Akita Happinets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Hokkaido L. will face Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Yokohama BC and hope to win that game.
