Regular Season Round 7: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 77-89

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-5) were defeated at home by second ranked Ryukyu GK (5-2) 89-77 on Wednesday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 41-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Shiga L-Stars were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 15 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Jonathan Octeus (193-91, college: Purdue) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-2 record behind leader Sea Horses M., which they share with Alvark T. and Chiba J. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with five games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Shimane Magic (#4) at home in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
