Regular Season Round 3: Lahti - Nokia 106-89

The game in Lahti was also quite interesting. Nokia (1-2) played at the court of Lahti (2-1). Lahti did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 106-89 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Lahti. Nokia managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Nokia's 36. Lahti looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian point guard Alex Campbell (193-93, college: Windsor) who scored 23 points. Forward Henri Ventoniemi (207-95, college: UWF, agency: Players Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jeff Garrett (201-94, college: LSUS) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Wes Washpun (185-93, college: N.Iowa) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively. Four Lahti and five Nokia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lahti will meet Kouvot (#8) in the next round. Nokia will play against Kobrat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
