Regular Season Round 7: San-en NP - Shinshu BW 79-83

Shinshu BW has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Hamamatsu, where they defeated San-en NeoPhoenix (0-7) 83-79 on Wednesday. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. His fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian guard Nenad Miljenovic (194-93, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Shinshu BW (1-6) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Kyoto H. and Hiroshima D. It was San-en NeoPhoenix's seventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Shinshu BW will meet at home league's leader Toshiba Thunders in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San-en NeoPhoenix will play against Dragonflies (#7) in Hiroshima and hopes to get finally their first victory.
