Regular Season Round 7: Handlova - Lucenec 74-73

The most exciting game of round 7 in the SBL took place in Handlova. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Lucenec (4-2) to sixth ranked Handlova (2-4) 74-73 on Wednesday evening. Handlova looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists for the winners. Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (208-96, college: FAU) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Handlova's coach Danilo Rakocevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and American forward James Murray-Boyles (201-97, college: UNCP) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Prievidza and Inter Bratislava. Lucenec at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Handlova will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lucenec will play on the road against Iskra Svit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
