Regular Season Round 2: HBA-Marsky - HNMKY 79-71

HBA-Marsky used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Helsinki 79-71 on Thursday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But HNMKY won third quarter 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded HNMKY 50-35 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. HBA-Marsky looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Aarni Korkiatupa (198-2) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points. Forward Thomas Exaucia (195-1) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Erik Waxlax (175-99) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (191-81) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for HNMKY. Four HNMKY players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. HBA-Marsky will face Tapiolan Honka at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HNMKY will play against LoKoKo Bisons and hope to win that game.
