Regular Season Round 4: Tsmoki-Minsk - Victoria 109-55

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Victoria (1-1) on the court of top-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Tsmoki-Minsk 109-55. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Victoria managed to win fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 38. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 19 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 57-27 including a 41-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tsmoki-Minsk looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Victoria's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tsmoki-Minsk made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of center Yana Makutsa (196-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Palina Kastsiukavets (178-4) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. Point guard Ekaterina Novik (170-5) replied with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and center Polina Domenyk (186-5) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tsmoki-Minsk have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion (3-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gorizont. Victoria at the other side keeps the fifth place with one game lost. Tsmoki-Minsk is looking forward to face Olimpia (#3) in Grodno in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Victoria will play at home against the league's leader Gorizont and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
