Regular Season Round 17: Fuerza Regia - Plateros 94-77

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Plateros (5-10) lost to third ranked Fuerza Regia (9-6) in Monterrey 77-94. The former international point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 assists for the winners and Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 18 points. Puerto Rican Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: SHSU) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Italian forward Alexis Elsener (196-88, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-6 record having six points less than leader Mineros. Plateros lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Fuerza Regia will again play against Plateros (#5) in Fresnillo in the next round. Plateros will have a break next round.
