Regular Season Round 8: Wuhan - Shanxi 64-81

Bottom-ranked Wuhan is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to seventh ranked Flame (5-2) 81-64 on Friday evening. Flame dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Wuhan's 26. Flame forced 20 Wuhan turnovers. The winners were led by international point guard Tongtong Wu (176-94) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Jinqiu Fu (188-96) supported her with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Flame players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by Xiu Li (178-94) did not help to save the game for Wuhan. Forward Kangxin Du (180-99) added 14 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flame moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sichuan. Loser Wuhan still closes the standings with eight games lost. Flame will meet at home higher ranked Swordfish (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wuhan will have a break next round.
