Regular Season Round 17: Libertadores - Panteras 128-105
Date: October 23, 2020
Rather predictable result when third ranked Libertadores (10-8) rolled over 5th ranked Panteras (5-13) in Queretaro 128-105. Libertadores dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Panteras' 58. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Panteras' players. American players dominated the game. Jordan Adams (196-94, college: UCLA) stepped up and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Tony Criswell (205-92, college: Missouri) responded with 21 points and guard Jacobi Boykins (198-95, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 17 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Libertadores and four Panteras players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Libertadores have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 10-8 record having just two points less than leader Mineros. Panteras at the other side keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
