Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kumamoto V. (5-3) against fourth ranked Rizing (5-3) on Friday night. Visiting Kumamoto V. was defeated by Rizing in Fukuoka 86-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. Rizing dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 36. Rizing forced 22 Kumamoto V. turnovers and had a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Masamune Tate (178-88) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 assists. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Rizing players scored in double figures. Rizing's coach Josep Claros allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Takaaki Kida (186-95) came up with 15 points and guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) added 6 points and 11 assists respectively for Kumamoto V. in the defeat. Rizing moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Kumamoto V. Rizing's next round opponent will be again Kumamoto V. (#4) at home.
