The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tochigi B. as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Toshiba Thunders) loss. Tochigi B. smashed 7th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers at home 97-66. Tochigi B. had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Tochigi B. players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Kai Toews (188-98, college: UNCW) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Tochigi B. players scored in double figures. American forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) added 13 points in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi B. have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Toyama G. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Tochigi B. will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Hitachi Sunrockers at Tokyo.
