Regular Season Round 3: Estela - Carbajosa 79-62

The biggest surprise of round 3 in LEB Silver took place in Santander where host Estela (3-0) beat Carbajosa (2-1) 79-62 on Saturday evening. Estela dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Carbajosa's 36. The best player for the winners was French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) who scored 18 points. American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: CUI, agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Estela players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alex Illikainen (206-96, college: UMD, agency: Duran International) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Arturo Cruz (184-93) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Carbajosa will play next round against Marbella trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Estela will try to continue on its current victory against Zamorano on the road.
