The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Angers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Angers edged 4th placed SIG at home 61-58. They outrebounded SIG 42-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. American power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sarah Ousfar (183-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Victoria Majekodunmi (174-96) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Amelie Voynet (181-94) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SIG. Angers have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Chartres. SIG at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. SIG will play next round against Aulnoye trying to get back on the winning streak. Angers will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Montbrison on the road.
