Regular Season Round 7: Nishinomiya S. - Fukushima 85-84

The biggest surprise took place in Hyogo where host Nishinomiya S. (4-3) edged league's leader Fukushima (5-2) 85-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fukushima. Nishinomiya S. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 32. Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: NM State) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nishinomiya S. maintains fifth place with 4-3 record. Fukushima at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Saga B.. Fukushima will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Nishinomiya S. will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Fukushima at home.
