Regular Season Round 4: Bolzano AV - Patti 66-54

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Bolzano AV and 11th ranked Patti had identical 1-2 record. This time Bolzano AV used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Patti 66-54 on Saturday night. They outrebounded Patti 47-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for power forward Giorgia Assentato (176-99) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. Dutch point guard Karin Kuijt (170-90) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Bolzano AV's coach Alessandro Pezzi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Marta Verona (174-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Rosa Cupido (166-92) added 15 points (made all of her seven free throws) in the effort for Patti. Bolzano AV (2-2) moved-up to sixth place in A2. Patti at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Bolzano AV will face higher ranked San Giovanni (#5) in Valdarno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Patti will play on the road against the league's leader Faenza (#1) and hope to win that game.
