Very important is a road loss of second ranked Moncalieri (3-1) against tenth ranked Sarcedo (2-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Moncalieri was defeated by Sarcedo in a tough game in Sarcedo 74-82. They made 32-of-39 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Moncalieri only scored five points from the stripe. The winners were led by swingman Irene Pieropan (175-91) who scored that evening 28 points and Croatian center Jovana Mandic (192-92, college: Nicholls St.) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by point guard Samira Berrad (169-0) did not help to save the game for Moncalieri. Guard Erica Reggiani (173-94) added 15 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sarcedo moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Moncalieri dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Sarcedo will meet higher ranked Mantova (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Moncalieri will play against San Martino (#12) and hope to secure a win.
