Regular Season Round 6: Rubon - Grodno GrSU 97-94

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Premier League took place in Vitebsk. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Grodno GrSU (2-3) to fourth ranked Rubon (4-1) 97-94 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-94. Russian guard Daniil Shibaev (185-1) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Victor Ovsepyan (202-91) chipped in 19 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Pavel Bliznec (211-94) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and forward Tsimur Drukau (198-99) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Grodno GrSU's coach Rustan Nosenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rubon moved-up to third place, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Grodno GrSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Brest. Rubon is looking forward to face league's second-placed Borisfen in Mogilev in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grodno GrSU will play on the road against Impuls BGUIR Minsk (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
