Regular Season Round 4: Ponzano - Scrivia 64-80

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Scrivia (2-2) beat bottom-ranked Ponzano (0-4) in Veneto 80-64 on Saturday. Scrivia shot 60.7 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Ponzano turnovers and had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for the former international center Valentina Gatti (191-88, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Croatian center Emilija Podrug (190-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Scrivia players scored in double figures. Scrivia's coach Francesca Zara used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Federica Iannucci (171-93) replied with 30 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and power forward Costanza Miccoli (181-95) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ponzano. Scrivia moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Ponzano still closes the standings with four games lost. Scrivia will face Carugate (#13) in Corugate in the next round. Ponzano will play on the road against the league's leader Crema having rather not much hope for a victory.
