Regular Season Round 18: Correcaminos - Dorados 97-122

Bottom-ranked Correcaminos (0-16) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to second ranked Dorados (12-6) 122-97 on Saturday evening. Dorados shot 67.2 percent from the field and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 73.7 percentage. Dorados looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Arim Solares (198-83) scored 18 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American Isaiah Wilkerson (191-90, college: NJIT) chipped in 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Dorados' coach Gustavo Pacheco felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Josh Treadwell (196-93, college: Coppin St.) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Dorados and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Dorados have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-6 record behind leader Mineros. Loser Correcaminos still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Dorados will face Lenadores (#4) in Durango in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Plateros in Fresnillo and hope to get finally their first victory.
