Very expected game in Madrid where Gijon (0-2) was defeated by Zentro Basket (2-0) 91-79 on Saturday. Zentro Basket outrebounded Gijon 35-21 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98) who scored 30 points. Nacho Rodriguez (200-94) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Zentro Basket's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
