Regular Season Round 8: Nova Ves - Inter Bratislava 80-50

SBL top team - Nova Ves (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Inter Bratislava (2-5) 80-50. Nova Ves dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Inter Bratislava's 28. Nova Ves forced 25 Inter Bratislava turnovers. The winners were led by the former international center Michal Cekovsky (211-94, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Delano Spencer (190-94, college: TSU) supported him with 14 points and 5 steals. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Lithuanian forward Arnas Berucka (196-97, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Inter Bratislava. The former international Richard Korner (200-90, agency: 011 Sports) added 8 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nova Ves have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Defending champion Inter Bratislava dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. Nova Ves will meet Handlova (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Inter Bratislava will play against Levice and hope to secure a win.
