Regular Season Round 4: Corinthians - Sao Paulo 77-103

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Sao Paulo (#4) and Corinthians (#5). Corinthians was smashed at home by 26 points 77-103 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Sao Paulo outrebounded Corinthians 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and the former international point guard Georginho de-Paula (195-96) who added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Lucas Caue (203-98) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) scored 20 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Paulo (3-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Paulistano. Corinthians at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Osasco.
