Regular Season Round 2: Avila - Burgos Nissan 75-78

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Avila (0-2) was edged at home by top-ranked Burgos Nissan (1-0) 78-75 on Saturday. Avila was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for British-Kittitian forward Kareem Queeley (193-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Alberto Alonso (200-1) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Alan Morchon (188-99) replied with 16 points and 4 steals and Belgian forward Benjamin Janssens (198-98) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Avila. Four Avila players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Burgos Nissan left bottom position moving up to second place in Group A-B, which they share with Univ.Valladolid and Zamora. Loser Avila still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
