Regular Season Round 7: Avenida - Estudiantes 63-58

An interesting game for Perfumerias Avenida (7-0) which hosted in Salamanca 4th placed ASEFA Estudiantes (5-2). Leader Perfumerias Avenida managed to get a 5-point victory 63-58. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of ASEFA Estudiantes. They outrebounded ASEFA Estudiantes 38-25 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-British swingman Katie Samuelson (190-97, college: UConn, agency: Wasserman) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: UConn) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side Argentinian power forward Agostina Burani (186-91) responded with 13 points and Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (166-93) scored 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Perfumerias Avenida. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Valencia. Newly promoted ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will play against IDK Eustotren (#7) in San Sebastian in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ASEFA Estudiantes will play at home against Cadi La Seu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
