Regular Season Round 4: Mark - Sodertalje 89-100

Bottom-ranked Mark (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 100-89 loss to ninth ranked Sodertalje (2-2) in Kinna on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Sodertalje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-92, college: Portland) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian forward Anna Dahl (192-98, college: St.Francis X.) who added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side guard Stina Almqvist (181-2) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Shayla Bennett (175-97, college: UNC) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sodertalje moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Uppsala and Wetterbygden. Loser Mark still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Visby. Sodertalje will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mark will play against Visby Ladies (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
