Regular Season Round 9: Hokkaido L. - Shiga L-Stars 87-98

Another interesting game for Shiga L-Stars (4-5) which played in Saporro against Hokkaido L. (3-6). Sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars had an easy win 98-87. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Hokkaido L. 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) with 28 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shimane SM. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Shiga L-Stars will play against Shimane Magic (#4) at home in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's leader Tochigi B. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
