Westside ET used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Forssa 86-79 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Westside ET outrebounded FoKoPo 38-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Sami Marouf (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) contributed with 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Westside ET's coach Nigel Moore used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Jerrell Martin (198-95, college: SHU) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Gokul Natesan (196-94, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) added 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for FoKoPo. Four FoKoPo players scored in double figures. Westside ET will face PuHu Juniorit in Vantaa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. FoKoPo will play at home against Raholan P. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
