Regular Season Round 2: PeU-Basket - Team Pajulahti 83-72

PeU-Basket used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lahti 83-72 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-72. PeU-Basket outrebounded Team Pajulahti 44-31 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Saiquan Jamison (203-98, college: Bowie St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 23 rebounds. Guard Saku Ahonen (188-97) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four PeU-Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Eemi Luukkonen (200-2) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sami Ikavalko (187-89) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Team Pajulahti. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. PeU-Basket will face Ura Basket II in Kaarina in the next round. Team Pajulahti will play at home against Karkkila and hope to win that game.
