Regular Season Round 5: Tarnovia - Stal Ostrow 2 115-66

There was no surprise in Tarnowo Podgorne where bottom-ranked Stal Ostrow 2 (0-5) was crushed by eighth ranked Tarnovia (2-2) 115-66 on Sunday. Tarnovia dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Stal Ostrow 2's 38. Tarnovia forced 27 Stal Ostrow 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tarnovia looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Stal Ostrow 2's players. The best player for the winners was forward Seweryn Sroczynski (195-95) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Power forward Bartlomiej Pawlak (200-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tarnovia players scored in double figures. Forward Kamil Nawrot (198-2) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Patryk Stasiak (194-1) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tarnovia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Stal Ostrow 2 still closes the standings with five games lost. Tarnovia will face league's leader Rycerze in Rydzyna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
