Regular Season Round 6: Samorin - Piestanske C. 51-71

An interesting game for Piestanske C. (4-1) which played road game in Samorin against one of their biggest challengers Samorin (3-3). Third ranked Piestanske C. had an easy win 71-51. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 24. They outrebounded Samorin 49-25 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Swedish power forward Danielle Hamilton-Carter (191-90, college: Georgia Tech) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian power forward Lea Miletic (183-95) contributed with 5 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Timea Sujova (172-84) replied with 22 points and international point guard Laura Horvatova (165-97) added 9 points in the effort for Samorin. Samorin's coach Albert Diosi rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Piestanske C. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record behind leader MBK Ruzomb. Samorin at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Piestanske C. are looking forward to face league's second-placed Young Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play on the road against BAM Poprad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
