Very expected game when 8th ranked Sharks (3-3) lost to fourth ranked Guandong Tigers (5-1) in Dongguan 105-119. Guandong Tigers made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Sharks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American MarShon Brooks (197-89, college: Providence) who scored 37 points (!!!). The other American import swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who recorded 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and center Zong Zan (208-89) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guandong Tigers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 5-1 record, which they share with Xinjiang FT and Qingdao E. Sharks at the other side keep the eighth place with three games lost. Guandong Tigers will have a break next round. Sharks will play on the road against Aviators (#13) in Shenzhen and hope to win that game.
