Bottom-ranked Korihait is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Vilpas (3-2) 89-64 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 25 points. Vilpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Inception Sports) nailed 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Ladarien Griffin (200-96, college: St.Bonaventure) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Vilpas players scored in double figures. Point guard Trevor Blondin (193-96, college: Seton Hill) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Trey Zeigler (198-91, college: TCU) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Korihait in the defeat. Korihait's coach Jarno Nikula gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with KTP Basket and Nokia. Korihait lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Ura Basket. Vilpas will meet at home higher ranked Pyrinto (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Korihait will play against Kauhajoki (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
