Regular Season Round 6: Bydgoszcz - GTK Gdynia 80-61

Very predictable result when third ranked Bydgoszcz (4-1) smashed at home bottom-ranked GTK Gdynia (0-6) 80-61 on Saturday. Bydgoszcz looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international point guard Julie McBride (163-82, college: Syracuse) scored 9 points and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international Angelika Stankiewicz (170-95) chipped in 14 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Magdalena Szulc (182-1) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Justyna Rudzka (171-0) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bydgoszcz have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Arka Gdynia. Newly promoted GTK Gdynia still closes the standings with six games lost. Bydgoszcz will face Poznan (#7) on the road in the next round. GTK Gdynia will play against Pol.Gdansk and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
